Come see the best of Locust Grove during our Fall event!
Come celebrate Fall at Locust Grove with Grovetober! Featuring vendors, live music, and special behind the scenes tours. While there is no charge for this event, certain events are ticketed.
Pumpkin Grove
Come and see our decorated pumpkins on the grounds! Over 35 pumpkin displays depicting beloved children's books. Special guest readers will join us throughout the day to read their favorite story. Schedule TBD.
Mansion Tours
The mansion will be open for tours! Tickets can be purchased in advance online, or in person at our museum shop.
Behind the Scenes: Archives Tour (Ticketed)
Take a trip behind the scenes into our archives, and see a display of highlighted items. Advance registration required. Tours will last ~45 minutes. No children under 12.
Craft Workshops (Ticketed)
1) Join local artist MaryEllen Siegel for a super fun class in beading Morse Code necklaces. Bring your WORD/WORDS to class and we will bead a beautiful necklace. All supplies will be provided by instructor. Class will be 2 hours long. $35 per person. Space is limited! (12-2pm)
2) Kick off our ornament making series and learn to make a folded fabric star ornament! Make up to 4 ornaments. Class will be 1.5 hours long. $15 per person. Space is limited! (10-11:30)

Learn fun, easy steps, turns and dips you can use on your wedding day! Walk away with useful tips and techniques on how to properly lead and follow, so you will feel comfortable and confident dancing on your special day and for the rest of your lives together.
Learn from the best wedding dance teachers on the Knot! Linda and Chester Freeman have received stellar ratings from wedding couples for the last five years. In this hour and a half workshop, you’ll learn entrances, exits, dips and turns for your wedding dance!

Southern Dutchess Concert Band
Grab your lawn chairs and come enjoy a free concert on the lawn at Locust Grove! The 75-piece Southern Dutchess Concert Band will perform a selection of show tunes, popular standards, marches, light classical and wind ensemble music. Highlights will include: music from "The Pirates of the Caribbean" movies, a salute to the swinging big bands titled "Jitterbug!", songs from the musical "Chicago", and patriotic selections. The Southern Dutchess Concert Band consists of woodwind, brass and percussion musicians from southern Dutchess County and surrounding areas.
The band will play from 6-8pm with a short intermission.

Morse Code Bracelet Workshop
Come join us to make a MORSE CODE bracelet! Choose your word(s) and make it in MORSE CODE using tiny glass beads. No one will know your word(s) unless you decide to tell them! You will translate your work into MORSE CODE and then you will learn how to make a "one size fits most" stretch bracelet. We will use beautiful glass seed beads on stretch elastic. You will learn how to properly knot and glue the bracelet for a secure fit. We will also use a beautiful bead to hide the knot! 2 hours is allotted for class time. You may finish earlier. Such a fun beginner project. No experience needed! The class will be hosted by local artist Mary Ellen Siegel, whose jewelry is featured in our Museum Shop!

Enchanted Gardens
Enchanted Gardens will run from May 16-June 28! The fairy houses will be out daily (weather permitting). Our grounds are open daily from 10-5, and the Visitor Center is open on weekends.

First Course
Forbidden Black Rice Salad: Forbidden black rice infused with coconut milk and lemongrass, topped with roasted golden beets, charred tomatoes, and shaved fennel. Finished with a fresh basil citrus vinaigrette and toasted coconut flakes.
Second Course
Slow-Braised, Grilled Baby Back Ribs: Tender baby back ribs glazed with pineapple and mango chipotle for a smoky-sweet flavor. Served with a refreshing slaw of shaved cabbage, radish, green apples, mango, and pineapple, lightly sweetened with honey and brightened with a splash of lime juice.
(Vegetarian Alternative: Grilled king oyster mushrooms or smoked jackfruit paired with the same slaw.)
