"Fertile Ground: The Hudson Valley Animal Paintings of Caroline Clowes." An exhibit organized by the Dutchess County Historical Society exploring LaGrange artist Caroline Morgan Clowes’ extraordinary path to national artistic acclaim.

Exhibit open to the public: November 4 - December 30, Wednesday - Sunday, 1pm - 5pm. Free, no reservations required.

Sunday, December 11: Holiday Hunt in the Mansion, a Family Fun Event!

It's a Holiday Hunt for sugar plums and more hidden in the holiday festooned rooms of Locust Grove's historic mansion! Bring your kids and family to this very special scavenger hunt themed on everyone's favorite holiday story "A Visit from St. Nicholas". Marvel at the 20 decorated trees on display. The scavenger hunt tour lasts about 45 minutes and includes rooms on three different floors of the mansion. Holiday Hunt is most suitable for kids ages 4 and older and their caregivers. Tickets required for everyone ages 4 and up!

December 26-31: Holiday Mansion tours

Tour the historic mansion, updated with festive holiday decorations! Enjoy trees festooned with antique ornaments in the Drawing Room and Dining Room, along with special exhibits. Tours last about an hour, $15/person. First tour at 10:15, last tour at 3:15 each day.


December 27, 28, 29: Animals in Art! A Family Fun event.

View the art of Caroline Clowes in "Fertile Ground: The Hudson Valley Animal Paintings of Caroline Clowes” an exhibit organized by the Dutchess County Historical Society, then paint an animal portrait to take home! Ages 5 and up welcome!
