Music Room

When the Youngs renovated the house in 1901, they built a large new dining room on the north end of the house and turned this room into the Music Room where it served as a retreat where the family members could practice music, give recitals, and also read. The room was redecorated in 1908; the wallpaper hung then has been reproduced and hangs on the walls today. Music and reading were both important marks of good education and good manners at the turn of the century.
