Billiards Room

The billiard room, located above the covered carriage drive and front door, was designed as a billiards room and built by Samuel Morse and his architect Alexander Jackson Davis in 1852.  The Youngs moved in their own billiards table in August of 1901, retaining the interior lay-light as the focal point of the ceiling even though they covered up the skylight that once let daylight into the room.
