Morse, Samuel F. B. "Italian Landscape" Oil on canvas. 1832-33. Purchased by Innis Young at an auction in the 1920's, this is the only painting by Morse in the Young Collection. Morse must have painted this scene in the early 1830's while he was on an extended Italian sketching trip, subsidized by a group of wealthy New York City art patrons.
