Sunday, June 22 ~ Strawberry Hill Fiddlers
Strawberry Hill Fiddlers is a program sponsored by Stringendo, Inc., to promote, teach and perform traditional music.  These classically trained young fiddlers meet weekly during the school year to learn new tunes by ear and work on arrangements which include singing, dancing, improvisation, and other choreography.  Tunes of many traditions are included in the repertoire – ranging from Appalachian, Quebecois and Cape Breton to Swedish and Celtic.
 

Sunday, June 29 ~ The Saints of Swing
Enjoy electric selections of Swing, Jazz, Dixieland, Motown, R&B, Ballroom, Gospel, Latin, and Klezmer classics. This seven-piece band is led by David Winograd on tuba/bass (from the Hudson Valley Philharmonic), and it features famed vocalist Miss Rene Bailey who has performed with noted musicians such as Louis Armstrong, B.B. King, and Aretha Franklin.  Other members include Dale Demarco, sax/clarinet; Bob Leive on trumpet/Bag of Tricks, Ken Foy, trombone; Mike Kull, piano; and Gene Randolph, drums.
 
 

Sunday, July 6 ~ Jazz Pioneers
This Big Band concert by The Jazz Pioneers features a unique and enjoyable blend of swing and Big Band favorites with the best of modern jazz.   Enjoy music from the great jazz visionaries from the past forty years such as Stan Kenton and Maynard Ferguson.  Directed by Bill Gillespie, this concert will feature well known vocalists Vito Petruccitto, Sr. and Ceista Little-Quinn.

Sunday, July 20 ~ Singer/Songwriter Vickie Russell
Vickie Russell, touring singer/songwriter based in New Paltz, NY, performs original heartfelt songs on keyboard and guitar. With melodic influences from Bach and Chopin to Carol King, Elton John and Sting, Russell will pull you into her world of love, laughter and hope. Joined by David Michael Peters on guitar and harmonies, and John Parker on upright bass, this trio will keep you moved and mesmerized. Concertgoers have enjoyed her as a main act as well as when opening for names like the 10,000 Maniacs, Donovan, Rick Danko, Leon Russell, Richie Havens, Chris Williamson, Full Frontal Folk, David Wilcox, Jeffrey Gaines, Groovelily, John Flynn, Lesley Gore and Jill Sobule.



Sunday, July 27 ~ Acoustic Medicine Road Show
This bluegrass and folk music program will be hosted by Joe Tobin, known for his Acoustic Medicine Shows held weekly at the Red Hook Inn and The Coast in Tivoli, NY.  In addition to the Acoustic Medicine Band, this concert will feature invited acoustic musicians and songwriters, each contributing their own unique styles to present a performance of Bluegrass and Folk music. 
 
 

Sunday, August 3 ~ Music for the Mind & Spirit
featuring percussionist Jeff Haynes

Jeff Haynes, a “percussion wizard” according to the Albany Times, brings a sound to today’s music scene that takes percussion beyond “technique” and “tradition”.  Featuring Jeff Haynes and his vast network of musician friends from all walks of music and corners of the world, this performance will showcase a wide variety of percussion instruments from various countries, both contemporary and historic.  Jeff has toured and recorded extensively with Cassandra Wilson for 15 years.  He has toured with the Pat Methany Group, Lizz Wright, Harry Belafonte, Dionne Farris and Peabo Bryson.  He has recorded on over 100 CDs with credits ranging from prominent names in R & B, Jazz, World Beat – to New Age.
 
 

Sunday, August 10 ~ Hudson Valley’s Spirit of Unity Gospel Ensemble
Veteran gospel singers and musicians perform traditional and contemporary African-American gospel music.  Spirit of Unity is an interfaith, multidimensional collective of established area gospel singers and musicians, songwriters, and other performers.  Gene Williams, director of musicians, who grew up with gospel music, is an accomplished bass guitarist and a deacon at Riverview Baptist Church in Kingston, NY.  Director of Singers, Sharlene Stout, recalls her mother saying she sang gospel “before she talked.”  Sharlene sang with the late Rev. James Cleveland and made her first recording with Pete Seager in 1964. Additional performers include: Jose Alverez, Vivian Boone, Ester Carrington, Minnie Carrington, Lawrence Cotton, David Edwards, Gloria Edwards, Nick Fuller, Eileen Herrera, April Jones, Harold Kimble, Marion Kinlock, Joan Okon, Anne Perry, Victor Rohas, Anesta Qwame-Vannoy

 

Sunday, August 17 ~ The Love Cats
The Love Cats is a seven piece band whose musical style is a fusion of upbeat and traditional blues, rock, soul and funk that combines guitar, piano and Hammond organ sounds, percussive bass beats, and features a talented three-piece horn section. Their arrangements are original and energetic, resulting in a unique and exciting live music experience. The band draws its influences and material from various different styles of blues and rock & roll artists. Texas blues acts covered include Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins, Delbert McClinton, Albert King and Freddie King; Chicago blues from Junior Wells to Buddy Guy and Howlin’ Wolf; and the Chicago funk and soul stylings of The Blues Brothers Band, Booker T. and the MG’s and Sam and Dave.
